हलाला कानून के तहत मुस्लिम महिलाओं को कई बार गैर-मर्दों के साथ सोना पड़ता और उनका यौन शोषण होता है। लंदन के इस्लामिक शरिया काउंसिल की सदस्य खोला हसन का मानना है कि हलाला एक पाखंड है। यह सिर्फ पैसे और अय्याशी के लिए किया जाता है। मुस्लिम महिलाओं को दलदल से बचाने के लिए काउंसिलिंग बनाई जानी चाहिए।
